Black Tights

Black tights have been one of the most popular tights in recent years, and for good reason! Despite several people dismissing them as boring and old, they appear to be used incorrectly by many fashion concious ladies. While you walk around the sidewalks of the bustling metropolis, why not make your struts sultry by wearing good looking and impressive black tights.

These special types of of tights not only exhibit your fashionable flavor but it provides your look with "persona" and you can guarantee every boy will be looking at you as you walk around town! From rhinestone encrusted tights to intricate made tights, they are confident to increase pizazz to your working day and night time outfits. They are much more than just a simple fashion statement! I love them so much its amazing!

Some of the designers in the New York Vogue magazine showcased an array of tights that have been partnered with diverse and strange looking materials, fabrics and even jewelry to look really sleek and sexy.  However nice they are, not everyone can not afford the expensive designer selling price. However it is quite effortless to mimic this amazingly sexy outfit without spending a ton of money which many of us common girls do not have.  You can get these tights on the high street or online. I personally am a big fan of Tesco tights despite it sounding cheap and nasty. They are actually really good and attractive!

As the weather starts to get better, crisp and amazing this season, tights not only supply heat but will allow you to feel good even if your legs are not extremely tanned thanks to living in the horrible cloudy United Kingdom. Even the most simplistic search can morph into pleasurable, edgy or advanced  with the ideal pair of tights. So have confidence in your body and start wearing black tights more! I can assure you will feel amazing and they will be the new staple of your wardrobe!

Tights and Where to Buy Them

Tights are one of the most important parts of the hosiery sub-section. A staple of any women's wardrobe, tights are one of the highest selling hosiery items. While most people may view tights as boring, plain and black, there are many different colours and styles available to the buyer. These include:
  • Black
  • Bamboo
  • White
  • Chiffron
  • Natural
  • Mink
  • Nearly Black (Not grey, just a slightly faded black.)
Tights can be made of lycra, cotton, nylon and many other types of materials. The most common type of tight is the black cotton tight and is generally available in most clothing stores at a reasonable price of around a £1 per unit. There are also many slight derivations of normal tights. These include Anklets, thermal tights, footsies and pantyhose. While these specific items may be hard to find in your local store, there are plenty of available online stores selling them. Doing a quick browse of the web, I found a seller of Joanna Gray 15 denier anklets. I also found plenty of sellers on Amazon on eBay but that particular website seemed to have the best price.

There are also many sites selling various colours of tights. These include pretty much any colour you can thing of - from red, green and blue to sparkly and even love heart pattern tights. There are truly endless options to chose from when wanting to buy tights, you can literally buy any design or colour to fit your personality!

Now for a little bit on the history of tights. The word 'hosiery' comes from the 'hose' worn by men in the 1600s when they wore tights that were as tight as possible for when riding around the country on their horse. Rich men with money to spend would wear expensive materials such as silk, compared to the more basic cotton versions worn by poorer, more common man. These days you do not see many men wearing tights and have become a staple in the modern women's wardrobe.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post - I will make sure I post another one next week about another hosiery topic. We have now covered the basics of socks and tights so I will have to think about another topic I can write about. To end this post I will include a picture of tights below, let me know what you think of these by leaving a comment below. As always, include any critical feedback of my blog if you have any - I love to read comments!

Come and check back again in a week or so!

We Love Socks

The term 'socks' is extremely generic. There are endless different types for every occasion imaginable. From bright pink casual socks to high density cotton work socks there are many different types to chose. There are also many places on the web to find socks - I will also give you a few of my top suggestions.

So then, what types are there?

  • Ankle Socks
  • Crew Socks
  • High density cotton work socks
  • Black formal socks
  • Long socks (often called stockings) used by footballers and hikers
Crew socks are probably the most common type of socks - you may even be wearing them right now! These generally sell for under £1 a sock, and can be found in most department stores. These versions are usually black or white - you will struggle to find any bright coloured crew socks as they are generally made on a budget. However, they are still good quality as the cotton is much thicker than light ankle socks. Sport stores may also sell these with a brand (Nike, Adidas, Umbro etc) however these are usually just generic socks with a brand on! Therefore you are paying more for a tiny logo at the top of your socks! The good thing about crew socks is that many stores often have excess stock meaning you can easily get some heavily discounted in a sale. If this fails you can also try online sellers such as Amazon (the link contains search matches for 'Crew Socks'). You can always just use Google too.

In my next post I will discuss ankle socks and where you can find them. As always, leave a comment if you have any questions or critical feedback!
